Ava Kovats is Manager, Finance and Administration at the Foundation for Educational Exchange between Canada and the United States of America and the longest serving member of the Fulbright Canada team. Her responsibilities at the Foundation include general financial management and reporting, budgeting, scholar payments, general payables and receivables, and overall financial planning. In addition, she handles the human resources portfolio and serves as Office Manager. In her capacity as Manager of Finance, she liaises with both governments, and with the private sector, on matters relating to grant management, taxation, and related financial issues. She is the primary support person for all grantees and all partners on matters relating to finance.
Ava has been with the Foundation for twenty one years, in progressively more responsible roles relating to administration and finance, and has considerable institution memory and experience.
She studied at Concordia University in Montreal, has a diploma in Business Administration from Algonquin College, and has considerable experience in administration and finance. She is a long time resident of the Ottawa area.
