The Killam Fellowships Program provides support for undergraduate students from accredited degree granting colleges and universities in either country to participate in a binational residential exchange program between Canada and the United States of America. Scholarship recipients spend either one semester or a full academic year as an exchange student in the host country.
The program is open to all qualified undergraduate students in both countries. The program is designed to encourage exceptional undergraduate students in the two countries by providing a unique opportunity for academic exchange. Students can apply either to the direct exchange program, which is limited to the participating university partners listed on this site, or to the open competition, allowing for participation from (and to) any accredited degree granting college or university in either country.
This program, which is administered by the Foundation for Educational Exchange between Canada and the United States of America, is supported by the American Killam Trusts, the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, and the Foundation. It is an integral part of the Foundation's multidimensional strategy to foster mutual understanding between Canada and the United States of America.
The Foundation for Educational Exchange between Canada and the United States of America is a joint, binational, treaty-based organization created to encourage mutual understanding between Canada and the United States through academic and cultural exchange.
